Overview
Precision tool and die work — punch and die sets, stamping and forming dies, mold components, and fast die repair, built in hardened tool steel and carbide. Wire and sink EDM hold the details grinding can't reach.
- →Punch and die sets in tool steel & carbide
- →Progressive, blanking & forming dies
- →Die details to ±0.00005"
- →Carbide and hardened tool steel to 65 HRC

When to Use This Service
Built for
these challenges.
If any of these describe your situation, we can help.
Stamping, Blanking & Forming Dies
Build and rebuild progressive dies, blanking dies, and forming dies for sheet-metal and stamping work. Wire EDM cuts die openings, punches, and details to matched clearances in fully hardened steel — no soft machining, no distortion chased after heat treat.
Punch & Die Details in Carbide
Carbide punches, button dies, and wear inserts that grinding can't profile and milling can't touch. Wire EDM traces any 2D form to ±0.00005", so mating punches and dies share the exact clearance your material and stock thickness require.
Die Repair, Modification & Engineering Changes
Cracked die sections, worn punches, or an ECN revision to an existing tool. We EDM new details into hardened blocks and add or relocate features without re-hardening the whole die — getting your tool back in the press fast, with rush options when the line is down.
Mold Components & Tooling Inserts
Mold cores, cavities, ejector details, and slides in P20 and H13. Sink EDM burns the 3D detail and texture; wire EDM cuts the inserts and slides — every feature finished to your surface-finish callout under one roof.
Precision you can count on, every time.
EDM doesn't rely on cutting force. No deflection, no tool wear, no burr. That's why aerospace, medical, and oil & gas teams choose EDM for their most critical geometries.

Overview
Precision Tool & Die, Built Around EDM
Tool and die work lives or dies on the details — matched punch-and-die clearances, sharp internal corners, and features cut into fully hardened steel without distortion. That is exactly where EDM excels. By building die details on wire and sink EDM instead of relying on grinding and conventional machining, we hold tolerances traditional toolmaking can't, cut forms that grinding can't reach, and machine the tool after heat treat — so the clearances you design are the clearances you get.
Dies and Tooling We Build and Rebuild
- →Progressive, blanking, and piercing dies
- →Forming, drawing, bending, and trim dies
- →Punch and die sets in tool steel and carbide
- →Mold cores, cavities, inserts, and slides
- →Jigs, fixtures, gauges, and check tooling
Why EDM Changes Tool & Die Work
Conventional die work means machining soft, hardening, then chasing the distortion heat treat introduces — grinding, hand-fitting, and hoping clearances hold. EDM removes that compromise. We machine the detail in its final hardened state, so there is no post-hardening movement to correct. The wire holds ±0.00005" on punch and die openings, traces sharp internal corners no end mill can produce, and cuts carbide as readily as tool steel. The result is a tighter, longer-lasting die with clearances that are right the first time.
Die Repair When Production Can't Wait
A cracked die section or a worn punch can stop a press line. We EDM replacement details into hardened blocks, add or relocate features for an engineering change, and turn die repairs fast — often the same week, with rush and emergency options when your line is down. We retain your programs and fixtures between jobs, so the next repair or rebuild runs faster still, and we provide material certifications, heat numbers, and first-article inspection reports whenever your quality system requires them.
